Content Creator Sai Ferrera Tells Us About Her Beauty Routine – Emirates Woman

UAE-based content creator Sai Ferrera tells us about her beauty routine.

Tell us about your morning routine.

I wash my face with soap-free water because I still have my moisturizer from the day before and the natural oil produced by my skin which is healthy. I use a silk pillowcase to protect the skin while I sleep. If I work from home I use Foto Ultra 100 isdin SPF 50 or Sunsense SPF 50 sunscreen because it means I will not be wearing makeup. However, if I’m working in the office or going to meetings, I use Charlotte Tilbury Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer with SPF 50. Make-up primer is crucial; Contrary to popular belief that this is just an added expense, the primer allows your makeup to hold better and therefore last longer, so you won’t have to touch it up. When I go to the beach or pool I struggle with skin pigmentation and always want to look my best, so I use Heliocare Oil Free Compact Foundation SPF50.

And is your evening beauty routine different?

In the evening, I use the Bioderma makeup remover; then I use a toner (I’ll be honest I’m not sticking to a brand) then I use Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream or occasionally add serums, unlike my 20s my skin is less sensitive. I no longer have spots quickly, so I play with serums and beauty products like Dior, Ole Henriksen, Nuxe, Chanel, The Ordinary, L’Occitane etc. What is consistent, however, is retinol which breaks down into retinoic acid on contact with the skin, which helps increase cell turnover and stimulates collagen production, and I use the one from La Roche-Posay.

What are your go-to skin care products?

Foto Ultra 100 ISDIN SPF 50 sunscreen, Sunsense SPF 50, Charlotte Tilbury magic cream and La Roche-Posay retinol.

Are you a fan of masks?

I love them. I may have to explore more to find out which ones really work.

How would you describe your approach to makeup?

I started having acne when I was 13 through my late twenties because of hormones. Makeup kind of helped me get through my teenage years with less “shame” because it allowed me to cover up my insecurities. To this day, I am grateful that makeup exists.

What can we always find in your makeup bag?

Sunscreen, mineral powder / foundation, lipstick and eyeliner.

Which perfume do you prefer at the moment?

I love Chloe Nomade and Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez; I use them alternately depending on my mood.

Tell us about your hair routine.

I color my hair, and I do a full head of locks every six months, which dries the hair out. I use Aveda shampoo and conditioner daily; I used Loreal Magnesium Silver shampoo to tone the highlights three times a week to prevent the color from turning orange but rather a lighter or cooler tone. In addition, I use an Aveda hair mask once a week. And I color the roots every month and a half. My hair grows out and turns to ombre as it grows, so I don’t have to do full hair coloring all the time. It saves me money and keeps my locks healthy.

What’s the most unusual item in your makeup bag?

I think it’s Heliocare’s SPF50 Oil-Free Compact Foundation.
